Why did DFG stop stocking the Kern River in mid-July?

Made me cancel my usual 2-3 summer excursions to Kernville

It's been real slow on this site for a while. I haven't fished the kern for two years now. Way to many low life's up and down the river. Leaving trash all over the place and not really caring. Sad situation.

Birdhunter;

Too bad. You have always been one of the few that has been pro-active in promoting Kern Valley and the Kernville experience.
Yes, there are many reasons to stay away. Hope it changes.

Glad to hear you are still in touch.

I see spotty report in western outdoors news but other than that nothing. I will keep track of stocking reports. I'm thinking I will make a trip or two this spring, I kind of miss the annual trips we use to make.

I agree with you about 'use to make'. It's just not the same, now.
