DFG would probably be the agency to handle that issue. But with the government involved it's probably finger pointing between USFS and DFG. The only time any agency wants to claim direct authority or responsibility is when fine money is involved.

When we lived at Roads End and had bear trouble, the DFG would bring a bear trap, setup and leave. Usually, within 2 days they'd come back and haul the bear up to the high country. Got to be they'd be back through within 30 minutes. Not long enough to get to the 'high country'.

There are some nice bear caves on the opposite side of the river, between limestone and McNally's and they like to get into the dumpsters and food uncaring campers just dump. They should be checking to see what killed the bear. Thanks for alert, we'll pass it on...again.

I wonder how it ended up there.Bears are extraordinarily intelligent animals. They have far superior navigation skills to humans; excellent memories; large brain to body ratio.
